Hi all,

greeting all..

Am I alone in missing the " previously on .." for Sky shows? Unfortunately with the ammount of great shows on at the meoment I really need that recap of what's happened in the previous episode. I assume Sky do this to get more adverts in the alloted time slot. Does anyone know if I download the torrents from original American broadcast ( thinking Boardwalk Empire) will I get this?

I was under the impression that US series - particularly those from HBO - increasingly didn't have recaps these days. In fact, I think Sky have even been adding them to Game of Thrones, in the form of the Thronecast, complete with its copyright credit at the end.

incidentally, welcome to the forum!

A lot of Network shows add "previously on..." segments to the beginning of their episodes and they form part of the episode running time. HBO don't do this, they instead produce recap trailers which air before the new episode begins. In my experience, shows that have the segment as part of the episode running time typically do not edit it out for DVD release.

The Sopranos has one it's television airings, but not on the DVDs.

If there's anyone out there who still hasn't seen 24, save yourself 16 hours per season by only watching the first episode, all the previouslies, and the last episode Very Happy

It used to be quite common for ongoing serial programmes to include a recap of the last episode by the continuity announcer over a series of slides before a programme. Go to 8:59 in this video for a Doctor Who example.
