They seem to still be having problems with the new presentation software. Odd how they are referring to themselves as "Sky One" internally after such a well advertised change to "Sky1". This appeared just ahead of a trailer during the closing credits of
"The Simpsons"

I thought I should post here instead of starting a new thread. I've just seen a new Sky ident just before Finge on Sky multi-start. It featured Sayid from Lost. I can't do screengrabs unfortunately.

I really like this one and think they could run and run with new additions every few months. They have to be careful which shows they use though because if a show gets axed the ident will be pretty much redundant.

Or gets picked up by another channel (though I can only think of friends and scrubs where this has happened to sky), wasn't the channel 4 island ident supposed to be based on Lost, until they lost the rights, luckily it fits in and isn't seen as a lost ident, though when you start to use programme stars is where it gets a bit tricky.

Sky have the rights for Lost until it ends so it's a pretty safe bet.

Why do Sky2 only use the 1 ident???? Its is so annoying and boring (bit like the channel).
They only seem to use the boxes on the rooftop one, where by Sky1 and 3 do then to use this one MOST OFTEN THAN NOT but at least now and again 1 and3 use the Fairground.
Also, I've only seen Sky1 use two other ones (hardly ever) which are the gun shot one and the tornado one.
Did they only bother to make 1 ident for Sky2 or something?? (and eben though they made 4 for Sky 1 they only show the same one again and again!!)

Take a look here at the site posted earlier in this thread to see the different channel versions of the idents. As for why they are only using one, who knows, but it seems to be the same with most companies, they launch with many but only use a couple too much.

The ident used seem to depend on the programme coming on, with the boxes one being the most common one, and fairground also being used a lot. I have seen Sky2 use the other idents recently, although with the shows I watch boxes is used most the time, and it's the same over on Sky1.

Sky 2 is stuck in the middle really, Sky 1 shows all the latest new exclusive shows which is what you signed up to Sky for basically, and Sky 3 is the best of Sky for Freeview viewers who want to see Braniac and Futurama, but don't want to sign up to an expensive package.
Sky 2 is in the middle, repeats of Sky 1 shows you've already seen, and shows from Sky 3 you saw years ago.

I find it odd that there isn't a Sky1 timeshift channel, it might be more use than Sky2
