Sky One playout problems

Sky One seems to be having all sorts of problems tonight. Firstly the credit sequence from the 8pm programme went horribly wrong, with a blank screen and the track with the automated "coming up next" voiceover jumping all over the place. It was also the wrong programme they plugged. The credits came back to life once this was over. In the first ad break on the 9pm programme, the title of the programme held on screen for about 15 seconds, before the screen went black but for the Sky One DOG for another 30.

Playing out an announcement promoting the programme which is just ending as "next on Sky One..." .....is quite a common occurence. I presume they are recorded well in advance (and also used for Sky Two) and simply programmed to go out at the wrong time.

People aren't normally listening anyway, because if they want to know what's next they just punch up the "Now & Next" banner anyway! I really can't understand why they bother with voiceovers for ECPs anymore - just squeeze up the credits so we can't read them and have done with it - no need to put their mistakes in audio as well and spoil the theme music for those that actually want to listen to it!
