With the recent battle for Multi-channel viewers, Specially with Sky One and ITV2.
Could Sky One ever come onto Freeview, I know its a long shot but with E4 moving from Pay-TV via Top-Up TV to Freeview, it could become a reality. It makes sense if Sky One feeling that they are falling further behind ITV2 which is available to an extra 5-7 million homes.

Any thoughts or do Sky One wholey need cash via Pay-TV.

IF there were double the adverts then yes.
But no one likes adverts so no.

I think for legal reasons that Sky One would be able to come to Freeview, if it did then many programmes probably wouldn't be shown, as they're part of a Pay TV package, but saying that as E4 have done it, why can't Sky? But Sky One has access to more popular shows as The Simpsons. Remember in the On/ITV Digital days when some programmes such as Seinfeld couldn't be shown on the DTT Sky One.

But Sky would probably make a massive blunder if they did move Sky One to Freeview, as the channel is one of the reasons why people sign up to Sky, if this happened then subscriptions would probably go down.

E4 however only became FTA (and then only on DTT) after the channel itself had become something of a shadow of it's former self. At launch it had first run pay TV rights to a lot of lucrative programming (including Friends and ER when both were at the peak of their popularity), airing things 6 or 7 months (and in some cases over a year) before they got onto an FTA channel. It also had a lot of exclusive programming with no plans to be shown FTA. Although it's still a channel worth having, it's certainly not as big a deal as it was 3 or 4 years ago.

There is absolutely no chance of Sky One coming to Freeview as things stand.

Perhaps if Sky split into two, one company managing the channels and the other managing the digital satellite network, there could be a small small chance.

However, there is an admittedly small chance that Freeview could get a "Sky Lite" channel, which would probably offer archive Sky programming and have to replace Sky Travel.

However, the only reason Sky would do this is if they could see the possibility that having a showcase Sky channel free to air on Freeview could attract new customers to Sky in order to receive Sky One (and the rumoured Sky 2, Sky 3 coming soon!)

At a push possibly via TopUP TV, though I very much doubt that Sky One would ever appear on FreeView. However I could see a channel such as Sky One Mix appearing on FreeView.
