Seems to be an odd issue happening lately with Sky One where programmes are fading to black but with sound every time the “Next” graphic is meant to display. Surprised nobody at Sky has noticed this as a few people have reported it on Twitter, unless playout is unmanned at the weekend?
Also, have they forgotten they have more than two idents? Over the past couple of weeks I've set all day recordings on a number of occasions and have only seen Dominoes and Microwave Popcorn in use - no others.
Sky1+1 has been stuck in 4:3 mode for a while now on all programmes. That and the strange positioning of its +1 DOG which has been like that for years.
Maybe if they were to go back showing the proper 4:3 versions of The Simpsons, not those awful cropped psuedo-HD versions.
It baffles me that some fans actually approve of those "remastered" episodes. Visual jokes have been abandoned in some episodes simply because some people don't like pillar boxes.
Though in the US on the Simpsons World streaming site when it first launched, those psuedo-HD versions were the only ones they had available- the outcry was so big that the proper versions went up pretty quickly.
It's not just the cropping, it's the processing they've gone through to make them look sort-of HD, it's pretty awful, and would be even if they'd kept it in 4:3.
Thankfully I don't think Channel 4 have shown any of those versions, yet anyway.
Yes, I've seen Channel 4 cutting stuff out of the episodes that BBC2 and Sky One never had a problem leaving in, even back in the 90s when Sky were very scissor happy with The Simpsons themselves.
The silliest thing was, not long after Channel 4 first started showing it, T4 showed a clip of a joke in their "coming next" bit that was actually (badly) cut out of the episode itself!

They did that with an episode of Friends too. The actual scene had a line cut out on C4, which was included in the coming up clip.
