I am sick and tired of the brainless trash that streams out of Sky One. Ok they might have a few good imports and it is the home of the Simpsons (no bad thing in my opinion). BUT, when are they going to stop peddling this kind of trash in the name of entertainment ?

E4 is fast winning the battle between these 2 channels.

Agreed, although Sky have been making a hell of a lot more original programming recently.
It's a shame they are closing down Sky Pictures too, they made some excellent movies.

The most interesting thing i've ever seen is a press release by Sky saying how Sky One 'beats ITV for the first time during prime time'.
Worrying.

That was a very misleading headline, Sky claimed that they beat ITV in 'multi-channel homes'. The fact is that millions of more people would be watching ITV on analogue. Sky One will never beat ITV.

And in multi-channel homes all can get Sky One - but only digital terrestrial viewers, cable and the like (ie. not Sky Digital) can get ITV!

Well nearly all of them watch it by analogue anyway Smile

Sky 1 seems to be going downhill really fast, it's now full of sci-fi programmes and these 'Uncovered in ..' programmes which are awfully tacky and repetitive. I love The Simpsons really but 4 times a night sometimes? It really gets too much...

Last autumn season they started showing some original dramas such as 'The Stretch' which were really good, but then they decided to give up on decent drama and go back to making trash, shame really.

is anyone watching the hilarious comedy series currently showing on sky one - wednesday nights at 11:00pm - Time Gentlemen Please?

I wholly recommend this to anyone who is living! MIMO

Top quality sky one production - cant wait for channel 4 or someone to buy it and show it on terrestrial tv as it would go down a storm

Who can forget the fantastic Dream Team - back for a new series in the autumn. Who killed Prash? is the big question on the lips of the country this summer(!) . No other soap gets more celebrities to appear in it.

Sky One are currently showing repeats @ 1430 weekdays.

Alot of the uncovered sereis is made by LWT according to repeats on Channel 4 shows that LWT are also going down hill:P:

Well LWT are the production company, but I guess even ITV refused to take these offerings.

Actually I am amazed that Sky One (with the backing of the Murdoch millions) has managed to lose many of it's biggest TV imports to E4, I mean Friends and ER. E4 is Sky One's biggest threat, and at the moment you just can't compare the two, E4 is streets ahead.

PS. BBC One has annoyed me tonight, by butchering Commando into 2 halves around the News, seems like they have caught the ITV disease.

Sky hasn't been friend, excuse the pun, with many of the US TV companies over the past few years.
Fox obviously provide Sky One with a lot of the crap but Sky have, and I quote, 'gone back to the tits and bums style of programming'.
Which is a real shame because they were making some decent programmes.
Jumpers for Goalposts was really funny and I hope it will return for a second series, but perhaps not.

I've only recently been watching E4 if something is happening in Big Brother.
So that's never then.

UK Play and Paramount are probably the best entertainment channels around though.

Nah, E4 is streets ahead and will become even better when Big Brother has actually left the schedules, stuff like

ER
Friends
Banzai
The West Wing
The Sopranos
Ally McBeal
Sex and the City
The Fugitive

make for fantastic programming. Paramount and UK Play, although good are just full of recycled unoriginal programming.
