Sky news weather

Now every half an hour? (July 2003)

They are now running adverts saying that Francis will be doing the weather every half an hour, now I know thats wrong but I have been watching today and they haven't even had weather every half an hour anyway, I am understanding wrongly, it also has the Halifax in the quarter, and it was a very odd advert!

There is also a new promo featuring Crime Correspondent Martin Brunt going about his occupational duties and talking about his job/role at Sky News.

EDIT: Just seen a fantastic promo for Sunrise, featuring Simon and Emma driving to work in their cars, arriving at Sky Centre, and then going on-air; shame the actual programme isn't as rivetting as this promo.

I saw the weather promo with Francis earlier, and it is...well...is it some sort of in-joke? It's well weird!

Agree that the Sunrise promo is good - hope they do one for everybody.

I like the new set of promos on the whole - they seem to be looking at lots of different people at Sky News, not just the usual suspects.

They're a bit like an up to date and more comprehensive version of the ones a couple of years back which featured a selection of presenters in a one-to-one interview situation, talking about how great working for Sky News was.

It was ripped off too! It sounds like the Calendar relaunch trailer a few months ago!

Emma Crosby drives a red BMW - there's a surprise.

The question is: why does the studio/newsroom look so good in the trailer, and so sh*te on air?

Anyway, there are changes likely to be made fairly soon.

Ahem.

lol, i've just seen this Sunrise promo - I must say it is very good. The studio & set does look very classy and vibrant. More importantly we know that Emma reads The Times.

I just caught it today, the set looks georgeous in those shots. It would be great to have the set light like that for sunrise, or all the time!!!!

I think slightly different music and set lighting should be used for each bulletin. Different shots of the globe in the titles at appropriate times (sunrise for Sunrise, and evening views for News at Ten)

And different newswall globe animations as in the case of the titles.

Just these slight changes, maybe with slightly different graphics would bring back the bulletins' own identities, and would make the news presenting more interesting...

They do have slightly different Idents don't they, there is a version with more lense glare on the SKY NEWS logo and a darker sky for later in the day, and the Night time version with the globe all dark for the overnight coverage, but they dont use it for some reason.

As for c@t dangling his carrots I've never heard such FILTH!!
