Yeah, it just looked too real to be virtual!

Hmmmm, although good old Cheshirec will disagree, i'd say early next week, but not even sky are sure when, as the rebuild has fallen behind at last word...

It could literally be anytime next week, or next weekend... i would say either Sunrise, or when JT and Kay Burley come on around 4ish

I simply do not think that it will arrive on Monday because of the fact that the previous relaunch took longer than a weekend and that relaunch was not exactly a major change from the last studio, whereas I hope this one will be.

Kev, we were told by someone in this forum that the studio was totally virtual.
And what is all this about the rebuild falling behind? You have told us again and again that there have been problems with this relaunch, first of all telling us the studio was going to be massive and half the size of the CNN newsroom, then it isn't, then they are all getting different studios for different shows.
Then nothing is happening, then they are scrapping all of their plans, then they are breaking away from BSkyB then they are not, then they arre keeping the glass screen, make up your mind for god's sake!
I cannot honestly believe that they would not have prepared all of the planning for this well in advance.... make your mind up Kev, if you don't know what they are doing then don't say anything at all!

Sky News ARE splitting from BSkyB.

What did you think of the temporary 2nd studio?
Because of the light blue colour of the background, on Sportsline there was an attempt to correct this by using darker light BUT the presenter was virtually (not in the computer term! - before this starts a new debate) in the dark!

Expect some discussion on the temporary studio during
a) Live @ 5 on Monday
b) more likely with Simon Bates on Weds Night

SkyNews, well please show me an article saying so!
I haven't seen anything, i'm not saying it isn't true, but I haven't seen anything that suggests that they are, Sky have not released anything saying Sky News are breaking off.
The temporary second studio certainly isn't virtual!

The temporary 2nd is a Sky Sports studio.

It was used for Technofile

You still can't show me proof?

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

I'm sure if you search the net you'll find proof.

I want to know where your evidence is for saying Sky News is splitting from BSkyB

I have searched the net.
I have searched the FT
I have checked all of the press released from Sky and News Corp.
There is nothing at all about this anywhere.
Which leads me to the conclusion that you have made it up...
I would be happy for you to prove me wrong, but until you show me some actual evidence about this then I am not prepared to believe you.

The vast majority of stuff we have heard from people claiming to know all about the Sky News re-launch and the election programming has, so far, been total crap.
If people are going to post in here they could at least make it the truth, instead of making up stories to suit them.
Unless, of course, you can prove me wrong...... can you?

Everyone is saying 'It won't be ready by tomorrow' but who knows - how long does a set take to put together? It can't be that long. Wasn't the current News 24 set put together in a day?

Yeah but I guess the news24 studio was all prepared and ready... i.e. it was empty, and all they needed to do was to put in the stuff.
In comparison Sky have to take apart the studio, then put it back together.
It may well be Monday, but the last relaunch wasn't exactly massive, they just had 2 plasma screens stuck in and that glass added, and then covered the place in fake wood, the studio looked similar and that took a week.
It all depends on what they are actually doing to it, if they are keeping the current style, i.e. glass window, then it should not take too long. Yet if they are totally changing it and opening it up into the newsroom it will probably take a while longer.

It will proberbly turn out that the studio we are seeing now is the relaunch! It might be part of cost cutting?

Cheshirec, with all due repects, you are just insulting people here who are your best bet of shedding any light on matters like this...

I think you are totally arrogant and need to get some manners, especially when you say people are making stuff up.

I will no longer be commenting on the Sky News relaunch, or any other boradcasting information for that matter, because obviously you don't value it...

As for proof, well, would you like everyone knowing all your business??? It is an internal matter at Sky, and they will decide if and when to go public...

News comes in and out of Sky Centre all the time from different sources, but obviously you don't believe any of it because 'we lead you to believe that it is all made up.'

The new look hasn't had any press attention, because sky want it that way, and as for the set.......................

Well, i'm not telling cos you will think it is made up, so, sorry everyone else, if you wanna know, then you'll have to wait and see.

Thanks
Kev
