It wont be finished by Monday, I am pretty certain of that.
Ison. They will 98% likely be building it where the old one was, they always have done in the past.
I expect the newsroom may be slightly changed, perhaps on a sort of tier arrangement like SS.comTV and it will all be open plan, but who knows.
It would be a shame not to see the newsroom in fully view as it is a nice newsroom, and is bigger than it looks.
The roof is all metal and has spotlights on it, there is a sort of metal shiny plate above the tv bank and the lighting is really fresh and clean, like the current on screen look.
And actually, I am not sure that desk is a Sky Sports one, I have never seen it used on Sky Sports before.

Of course, you know, this very well could be the new look.
(Just kidding...)

Is there any chance of someone getting some screen grabs for those of us who don't have Sky?

Looking at the photo, it looks pretty much all virtual to me - there is that 'haze' behind the presenters as much in front of the 'wood' as the newsroom image. And the fact the floor is just black should show that the whole thing is virtual...!

What is this facination with Virtual Studios???
Because it is a black floor, makes it virtual???
the proper studio has a black floor......
The temp studio exists, it is not fancy computer work
All that stuff is real, and the newsroom image is projected...

Well, I (and we) stand corrected - but a polite 'I know that the studio isn't virtual' would have sufficed.

Sorry if you took that personally, but i was just making a point, which is, afterall what these forums are here for.... to get a point across....
Sky News is actively working on their new set, and have neither the time or resources to create a huge operation involved in a virtual set... if you look closely, you will be able to see that it is not virtual, infact, if it was, the presenters would go through half of the stuff there due to the complex camera angles used....

Yeah, true - I wasn't taking it personally kevin! Thanks as ever for the information - do you have any insider knowledge as to when a relaunch may happen? If not, when would you put your money on?!!

Hmmmm, although good old Cheshirec will disagree, i'd say early next week, but not even sky are sure when, as the rebuild has fallen behind at last word...
It could literally be anytime next week, or next weekend... i would say either Sunrise, or when JT and Kay Burley come on around 4ish

Yeah!
When I looked again, I suddenly realised that it can't be virtual as the presenters were casting a shadow!!!
Also, as Kev said. Its very hard to get chromakey and virtual studio's correct when you have different camera angles!
I hope it does happen early next week! Just why have they decided to put together that looks almost identical? Seems a bit silly! Maybe that studio get used for other things.
Thanks for confirming that it isn't a virtual studio!
