The studio is actually quite good, considering it is totally virtual.
I would expect that the new studio wont be on screen for at least a few days, i'm not expecting it to be finished on Monday, perhaps next Monday or this coming Friday?
The desk is sort of Sky Sports.comTV style, I recon this is going to be the way Sky News looks, only obviously bigger than Sky Sports.com TV, becuase they have a larger newsroom.
I guess that the more relaxed style of SS.comTV will be used on Sky News as well, only with none of those screen cramping graphics.
Should be interesting anyway.

The studio is NOT virtual.
The newsroom is the only thing that isn't really there. The big screens are replaced by large images.
My concern is that if someone who has never watched Sky News before sees the current studio they will think it is tacky. It look like an MFI job - even though it isn't. Also it's too small & cramped. Hey, it's only around for a week.
I thought most of it looked virtual actually.
It is only around for a week yes, I think the shot of the two presenters sitting at the desk, with the bit of the desk in front of them actually looks really good.
Anyway, as you said it is only around for a week.
I expect July 1st as relaunch day, they always do things on the 1st of the month.
And actually I like this studio more than the old one.
The shot of the newsroom is better, like the 1998 version, looks much bigger.
The studio is only small but then small can be good(under certain circumstances), a bit more cosy and immediate ...
Perhaps they've run out of money.
I'll donate my 10p to them instead.

Surely if they have moved out of the usual studio then they are building a new studio there and not in the middle of the newsroom?

Even the wood is actually wood!

They are getting some of the virtual shots wrong. The presenter is being shown with the whole wide shot of the newsroom behind him, instead of when both the presenters are there.
I saw that about an hour ago and thought it looked rather big.
Are you sure the wood is wood? It looks virtual to me, but I haven't looked in much detail.
Remember how good the ITV Election VR House of Commons looked, they can do anything with computers now.
Either way, Kay Burley is sure to let us know.
