I'm not quite sure that is required Jamez....
They do look very good MDTA - even though I'm getting very bored of the current astons. I cannot see them being kept they'll have to be adapted in some way.
They looked far better during the election campaign, when the blue bit popped up from the white bit and the font was smaller.
The 1998 - 1998 (!) astons were a bit like the current BBC News astons.
The 1996 - 1998 astons were okish, blue with a red tag for breaking news but back then astons were not used that much - from what I remember.
I think they were only used for breaking news. I think Sky only really introduced the current style of astons (where the text was sort of typed out and animated) in 1998, and News 24 went and copied them a year later
Before they were just like ITN's current style - the text faded in and out all at once.
They do look very good MDTA - even though I'm getting very bored of the current astons. I cannot see them being kept they'll have to be adapted in some way.

The November 1, 1997 re-design saw new astons that were dropped within months. Originally they were rounded with a globe on the left of the screen, obscured by the logo.
These were then changed to a
TOP LINE: Black graduating into transparent
BOTTOM LINE: White graduating into transparent
And then changed again to
TOP LINE: BLUE graduating into transparent
BOTTOM LINE: Yellow graduating into transparent
