They seem to have ditched the FTSE bug this morning. They normally have a weather one during Sunrise as well don't they - or is it because there are officially no 'programmes' anymore?

Perhaps they forgot?
I think the big studio move and Videowall Preperations took priority
I really like it - very modern and clean. I just hope they use the videowall to its full potential!
The only thing that bothered me slightly was the fact that the background for the sports updates was a tad on the dull side - just a few people working and a blue wall behind. I noticed that they swapped the sport presenter from the other side of the desk quite early on this morning, as that angle was even worse. Still, maybe that's where the hanging logos will come in...
But, in general, I think it's fantastic. You'd certainly have to be blind and deaf to miss the breaking news when it comes in - in which case you probably shouldn't be watching Sky News anway! And now I finally know what a 'black and banana-shaped' desk looks like
With the return of the screens behind the presenters today, we finally saw those images of reporters waiting to go LIVE. This morning: Laurence Lee in DC on the videowall continually drinking from a bottle of water.
The sport & business look dull with the boring newsroom section behind the presenters.
Some newsroom studios are just standard newsrooms with a bit of colour on the walls, others are like CNN where there is careful attention to make ALL the newsroom bright and definately NOT dull. The new Sky newsroom is dull, apart from the bright videowall which is very distracting.
Just noticed that the little pole on the stage in front of the newswall holds up a wire at the front of the stage - presumably to stop the reporter falling off! Health & safety requirement, possibly...?
No need to apologise Mark! Did the presenters mention anything about it at 6am? I forgot to take off the Personal Planner thing so it flicked to BBC One and taped that instead by accident at 6am!
I'm impressed but does anyone get the feeling the bank of video screens is just too distracting? There's one thing making people aware of constantly changing news but not when it distracts from the presenters.

Anyone noticed that when they do an Outside Broadcast, before it comes on,if you look on the videowall, you can see the O.B. presenter getting ready for his item! The stuff you are not suppoesed to see!And i think one of the screens has Fox News Channel on it.

Yes I agree - When you see Sky Sports or some Ads on the Newswall it is a bit distracting - perhaps they could dull them down, apart from that I think the set is brilliant. Can't wait now for the full relaunch.
No, they said nothing but Simon McCoy had a *VERY* smug look on his face (nothing different there then...!)

There was not mention of the new studio at 6am, and i have to agree when the camera is focused on one presenter the flicking images on the video bank is very distracting.
Overall the new look is very good, I like the camera shot from behind when they go to an add break.
Can't wait until the new on screen look starts, is it the 24th of the 30th of September?
