I don't know if anyone has seen this before, but I only just found it. Go to the website below, click on the gallery, and choose Sky News. You can then get a full 360 degrees view of inside the Sky Newsroom. When you can see the actual studio, click on it, and you also get a full 360 of the Sky News studio. Nice.

I would guess the newsroom will have to be part of the studio in some way.
If they are getting rid of the monitor bank they they are clearly improving the newsroom in some way.
but as I siad I expect that the newsroom will be extended out into the area of the old studios and the desk etc will be on a higher level to the newsroom below it.
It is funny that Sky haven't said a word, I expect they might in the next week or so.
I think the platform will have to be circular basically because of the fact that all of the graphics are round and the desk used at the election was a big round table and it would fit in well.
Now if we look at the Sky News director's post, he said it will most likely replace the current soft area.
Does anyone, or can anyone draw us a map of studio 2 so we can have an idea of size and whereabouts in relation to the newsroom the soft area is?
That would give us a far better idea of what the new studio will be like, as it will mean that we can look at exactly where the newsroom is and see if it would make sense for the newsroom to be extended into the studio...

This is probably a silly question, but looking at the site below, I notice the gallery is fully lit. Most of the time I've seen pictures or feeds from TV galleries in the past, they have very minimal lighting apart from the glow from the monitor stacks themselves - e.g.
GMTV, News 24, various BBC 'entertainment' shows such as Comic Relief, The RDA, Children in Need all have lights off. I've seen clips of Newsnight, BBC News at 6 and those Sky pictures with the lights on.
Is this something to do with the design of the gallery, and which do people find it easiest to work in? I would image it must be quite difficult to work in a dark environment for a long time without getting headaches etc.

The BBC main news gallery is not that dark - it looks quite dark from pictures you see and is not 'normal lighting' (indeed it is shielded from the main news centre lights by darkened glass - but you can still see and it's more like early dusk than really dark.

I've made a hurrendously cheap powerpoint presentation, of a proposed new loko for sky news, the graphics were niceu until i put them in and out of about six programs, i'll post some proper images tomorrow, but here's the presentation here's the presentation , I advise you to start the menu and countdown playing two secs before you start the presentation and leave it until the countdown finishes, let me know what you think about the vague logo/astons ideas, i'll post some better pics tomorrow, good night.

Well we know for a fact that it isn't going to look like that.
I recon it will be dark blue, with white lettering and it will be in a round square.
Remember that, I bet i'm right
But at least we now know that the studio is to be in the newsroom, which will be extended and revamped, which is excellent news to say the least!
It will at last mean one UK news channel where you can actually see the full behind the scenes operations, or at least some of it.
When they start running you know something is happening!
I wonder, will they put background noise on so you can faintly hear the newsroom, like CNN do.
