It's a wonderful thing working in the media - you hear lots of juicy gossip about all sorts of things!
Apparently, the new set is similar to N24 in that the Newsroom is fully visible now, not gauzed over.
Also they have a HUGE vidwall in the background where correspondents will stand against and run through their report with graphics on it etc - bit like Ch4 News vidwall, but on a much grander scale
Yep, we are all I presume looking forward to the relaunch less than one week away now... will be interesting to see the finished product after months of talking about it.
Let's try and use this topic to continue all discussions up to the relaunch here and in the new TV Home Forum (see other post)...
I've been told (by someone who's seen it) that the videowall is approximately 10m x 3m - now that's what I call massive!

Aparrently according to a friend of mine who works there the piece of glass at the back of the studio through to the news room is so clean they are worried some one might walk into it in classic You've Been Framed, patio doors style
Call me a kill joy but...
I can't see how the video wall can be that big... the newsroom isn't massive - yes it is pretty big considering they only operate one service but I can't really understand how it can be that big - it wont fit in the newsroom!!
The newsroom is wider than you thing though, there's a bit... ooh playing News 24 out on the 6?! aha, they're not showing pictures of the stuido, opps, messed that up!
Anyway, yes... newsroom - not massive.
I can't see how it can be that big - especially not if it's going on the back wall.
Will certainly be VERY interesting.
It'll be really interesting to see what the newsroom looks like when it's in full view. I've always thought it looked pretty good through the blue tint on the window but, when I've seen it by itself, I thought it looked a bit nasty - beige/green! Any word on colour schemes?
By the way, the 10m x 3m for the videowall was just a rough estimate from my friend - he didn't get the tape measure out or anything I'm guessing the videowall will be roughly the same size as the old monitor stack - maybe a bit taller.
The newsroom does look pretty great - there's a sort of metal mesh roof IIRC, with strange lights on it.
No windows in there though, distracts the overnight staff (supposedly!).
HAHA! What a balls up on ITV!
God, I'm going OT again... NEWSROOM!
Right... it's a sort of green colour, bit of a horrible colour actually.
I know someone found a 360 view of the newsroom, I've still got that somewhere, it's very good and gives you an idea of how big it is.

Watch out for one time News Round Presenter Chris Rodgers turning in a more prominent time slot, maybe with a 'more experienced' (she would kill you if you said old) female anchor.
I've always thought the newsroom looked a bit 80s (which was when it was built, after all!), so I have this horrible 80s-style impression of what it's going to look like stuck in my head! Still, I guess the videowall will make it look a lot more modern.
