Perhaps Phil but then again if you were basing your opinions on the news reported here on the forum then you may be as disappointed as many of us are.
Remember, we all thought the relaunch would happen 3rd September. It got delayed until the 24th due to delays with the 'new graphics'. Then we were told it was going to happen last week with the studio and the 30th with the gfx. That gave the impression that the studio was all ready to go but that the gfx werent.
Now we have all seen the screen shots of the new gfx and I think it is justifiable to say that they are not that significantly different to the ones currently in use ?
The discussion here on the forum led to the impression that the gfx were the component which was taking the longest to perfect. I think that now that we have all seen them people are quite legitimately asking the question 'what took so long' ?!
Well the logos are printed in this weeks Broadcast - complete with Pantone references for all the anoraks!
The aim according to the article is to get back to a central brand while ensuring each channel retained its own character.
It says Sky One and the movie channels will change in the New Year but it's not yet been decided whether to rebrand Sky Sports.
The on air Sky News look will be Monday October 1st.

What do i have to do to convince you!
That image you are on about, has been there since the election and was designed by me, and altered by sky.
The New logo on digital spy etc, comes from sky, and is of the new logo and on screen graphix coming on Oct 1st.
Personally i find it remarkable you keep thinking my logo is the new one, but if it was, dont you think i would be pleading its case!!
My logo is not the new logo, simple as that, now can someone tell me the pantone refrences from the BROADCAST article so i can finish off making the REAL new logo.

Huh? Those are the exact same words you used in the other thread? Are you using a script? Seriously though, why would Sky put up a logo on their site, if it won't be used?

Something I didn't notice before
1. Not that we'll notice the difference but on sky digitals listings it says:
11.00am SKY NEWS TODAY - Doesn't say who's presenting
for hour long programmes it says SKY NEWS - ON THE HOUR and under information it says whos presenting
for half hour programmes which are proceded by sky world news it says SKY NEWS
It also says SKY NEWS for the overnight programmes
All this is meant to happen Monday... Whats going on
Funny this, but the more I see the new logo, the more it grows on me, and I actually quite like the graphics at the top of the screen. But I must admit that I think the astons are unbelievably pants! This relaunch really shouldn't have taken this long...
By the way, I'm in France until Christmas so, if someone could post some pics of the new look when it actually launches, I'd be very grateful!
