I was speaking indirectly to someone who works at Sky News on the MHP mailing list. Some of you may of read this but some may not have, so thats why I have posted it. Also, apologies if someone has already posted this information but it contains some good info.

1. What will the new logo and the new studio look like?

- I'm far too busy trying to replicate the *old* look in a different studio at the moment! All I have heard so far though is that the news-room monitor stack will be replaced by a video wall and the studio will have a raised, dais-type section somewhere - probably replacing our current soft-end. Off-screen, much of the equipment will change too: new sound desk; new vision mixing desk etc. I'm going to get to play with a Grass Valley Kalypso (which is what we're currently using in studio 7)- a big difference to what we had before...

2. When will it all happen? The latest date we've all been told is the 'end of July'

- Last I heard, the move back to studio 2 (and relaunch) was scheduled for July 28th, but that could well change. I'll let you know as soon as I know for definite.

Also a couple of other bits of info:

By the way - as of next Monday, all back half hour programmes are axed. No more Book Show, Showbiz Weekly, Technofile, Money, Your Call, Business Report...all gone. Shame, really. Non-stop rolling news here we come.

But you knew that already...

Finally, he said that the spoof design done on Chesh's site (in flash) is not going to be how it will look after the relaunch.

All interesting stuff, I'm sure you'll agree and that it from an official Sky News insider!

SORRY!!!

I am stupid, I obviously have no eyes and didn't see that Asa has posted the same identical information in another thread!

I'm really sorry about that, you can delete this thread if you wish, or just let it run

Again, I'm really sorry!
