Could that just be part of the FOX washington background they sometimes use?

I was going to say the same thing. Still, if it's that studio, at least it no longer has 'FOX' in big letters across the background! I guess it might be Sky's own one, though...
By the way, am I right in thinking that the slash through the SKY / NEWS logo in the new Westminster studio is actually just the edge of the glass window, rather than a specific design point?

It's definately Fox's.
Like Sky, they just have a variety of different screens lined up.
Sky are now based at the Fox Washington studios, I think previously they (and most of the rest of the international media) were on I Street (or Eye Street, as some will call it).
Cheaper.
Fox generally don't use Sky studios for their interviews, though. Think it's an independent news production company based in London that hires itself out, and employs the splendidly named Alistair W-anklyn.

FSN, that's it.

They are the lot Fox use for their London interviews. Not entirely sure why, to be honest. Can't imagine that Sky would charge them more to use their studios than FSN do, and any cash that did change hands would be "kept in the family". Quite odd, really.

The website for FSN says that the owner of FSN is Simon Marks who appears on FOX News quite often for stories in the Middle East.

The Sunday studio is indeed very nice... I wonder if Littlejohn gets a refresh? I look forward to it's return, looks like 3D isn't coming back. I thought it was quite a good programme though.
Is this relaunch a windup? I would have thought that we would have started to see some presentation style changes by now, as for some reason most new looks seem to be implemented in September.

Aaaahhh... but wasn't that 2001 relaunch a rush job with the post-911 climate in mind?

6am, 30th September 2001 was the last relaunch - so October wouldn't surprise me at all, and of course the full rebrand before that was on the 1st October 1998 to tie in with the launch of Sky Digital.

I think so, actually - they had already been in the new studio for a couple of weeks before the new graphics and music hit the air. Remember the old Sky News logo across the newswall and set and the blank blue sheet over the front of the desk. They wanted to get in there as quickly as possible, but I think the graphics and music were pretty much what they wanted them to be - after all they wouldn't have stuck with them pretty much unaltered for 2 years, would they?
Especially considering the election look last a matter of months!! I don't think they'd be afraid to drop looks if *THEY* really didn't like them...despite what we think about it.
