Just a small note: credit really has to go to the person responsible for producing today's Sky News EPG listings.

4.30pm has "Anna Botting's Video Dairies".

I have no idea where Anna Botting is, but I'd be surprised if Sky were sending her to film a series on the processes involved in producing milk, butter and other such products.

Isn't Anna Botting on a boat somewhere? I remember seeing footage of her leaving port, is it the Cowes Boat Race or something? Not sure, but I do know she's on a boat.

She did the Fastnet race thingy, and reached dry land in Plymouth. That was what the Anna's Diary programme was about. Not exactly eventful, but still a nice change from the usual stuff on Sky News.

I really hope the music is a minor reworking of the current theme by Dobs Vye - the all 'big band' theme of old was to slow, plodding and self important.

Keep the set and videowall.

The only thing I would change are the astons, I'd reduce them to the size they are for when the ticker is on, and switch the name of the person on screen to the deep blue band at the top of the aston, and what (s)he does to the lighter blue colour underneath - like everybody else does.

BTW - CNN US. What does Anderson Cooper present? I saw him host the US version of 'The Mole' on Challenge in July, and wondered if is was a heavyweight anchor for the station - or a 'and finally' correspondent out in the sticks. Ta.

Anderson Cooper is actually a news anchor for CNN US. I don't know whether 'heavyweight' is too strong a term, but he certainly presents serious news programmes. In the past, he's presented the main evening newscasts at the weekend, as well as 'Live from...' during the week occasionally. His new programme on the channel will be a nightly, fast-paced newscast at 7pm, which has been described as a newsy version of ESPN Sportscenter.

Back to Sky now, and I noticed that former ITN political editor Michael Brunson was providing analysis on the Hutton enquiry all through today's Sky News Today. I've seen him review the papers before, but this is the first time I've seen him do this sort of thing on Sky - is he now a regular analyst?

I agree that the supers / astons are a better size when the ticker is being used. Don't forget that Sky have a 'in your face' policy though ....

.... they want you to drop your pork pies and put 'The Sun' down .....

No. A few more weeks yet I believe.

With all the recorded Hutton stuff, it makes you wonder if there is something being rehearsed or changed somewhere in the 'Sky Centre'.

Keep an eye on the Sky News Active newsroom shot for strange happenings when the output is recorded. These sort of things were spotted by Tv Forum members before the launch of Sky News Today.

No, there's nothing going on during the Hutton tape playouts.
These are made at the Millbank studio and just get played out from the gallery.

Who's the overnight presenter tonight? I missed the v/o (if any) at the top of the hour.

Noticed Littlejohn returns next week according to Sky EPG. It's at 7.00pm, and has been cut down to 30 minutes, and runs Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (and I think it was said on here Thursdays as well, but EPG doesnt go to Thurs next week at time of posting).

No sign of 3D, or a daily Adam Boulton politics show though.
