I think this theme would be perfect for the SkyNews re-launch. I think retains a dancy bed and a modern feel but updated for the new century. I would use it sans the saxaphone after the intro.

I think you could use a standard hyperlink, not that oversized writing. Stands out, yes, but your link doesn't even work!
What's the betting this new Sky News music is a temporary measure until a full relaunch!

c@t what do you think of the proposed theme I linked on the forum?

Remember imagine it without the cheesy sax after the intro.

Well, when you compare it to the tracing-paper thin rubbish they had before, I think it's rather good.
Does end a bit too soon, though.
Makes it sound much more dramatic.

Well, I'm not c@t, but I've listened to it, and think its a shocker. With or without the saxaphones. Sounds more like an theme to a TV show, rather than a news channel opener.
This new Sky News theme, on the other hand, is growing on me... The Up to the Hour 10 second piece sounds a bit off key, and I'd have hoped for something a bit more distinctive for Sky News Today, but on the whole it's not as bad as I'd first though.

Well it actually is an opening theme on the Sinclair stations news broadcasts. I think i could actually fit for SKY NEWS. It certainly gets your attention and its still youthful and modern. Again sans the sax.

The new theme that sky has is youthful, modern, dramtic and better than that one. The new tune sounds like a news tune without being too american, which your suggestion sounds (most probably because it is).

If we're posting suggestions, I think this sounds very Sky Newsy.

The first 10 seconds don't, but once it gets going, I think you get a Sky News feeling about it.

And what's wrong with that? A good theme is a good theme no matter where it was created.

Yeah the opening is not commanding of attention. But I think the theme sounds too synthesized.

The problem with the new SkyNews theme is that it doesnt have a recognizable or a standour signature. Most news music producers know that brand recognition goes hand in hand with a signature that most people can easily hum. The previous them had the "DAAAA DA DA DA DAAA..sorta singature. This new one lacks that completely. SkyNews has built a brand on easy recognition of their product. (News wall...the "Breaking News" swoosh, among other things.) This theme, after listening a few times is a real let down. I reallly think they should have re-worked and re-freshed the previous one. I think they need to pump it up a bit more. A bit more bass to the bed, sounds like some one is tapping on a sheet of paper.
