Sky News Mini re-launch

I don't know why, but the new music reminds me of the soundtrack to Wing Commander...

(That's an old PC game from 1990 for the younger members here...)

What the heck? They used a short version of the speed-globe after the headlines at 1pm! It's so wrong, very wrong, that music and those titles...

I'm still convinced the TOTH theme has been the same throughout the day, but then again, I never could hold a tune.

From what Martin Stanford said earlier, they've been recieving quite a bit of reaction to the changes!

It seems they have droped the opening wide shot too if the one was anything to go by.

What did Marting say earlier?

He was doing one of the plugs for email/texting, and said something like,

"Email us about any of todays stories, perhaps their journalistic integrity or even the music that surrounds them".

The way he said it, sounded like they weren't getting a very positive reaction!

Maybe they'll do a GMTV and revert to the old music tomorrow

Stupid GMTV and their stupid "don't give it chance" attitude! If they revert to the old music, heads will roll, because who paid for it? Sky's subscribers i.e. the viewing public!

Ughhhh. Nope. Much prefer the old music. I don't know what they're thinking!

For once, I'll be hoping that Sky News Australia DOESN'T follow their UK counterparts.

I normally like a change, but on this occasion, they should have left well alone.

The new dramatic music to Sky News is awfull and the way they have altered the Titles i.e. One O'Clock, makes it look Cheap & Trashy.

I only wonder if this is part of a better new-look which may come next week or in a few weeks.

Two years ago, they changed the Set a good week before the Titles & Graphics.

Maybe there is some future hope.

At the moment, Sky News has gone down in my Estimation.

It is time for Sky's idents to change again - Sky Movies changes in November, Sky One will probably change in January (it's current idents will be 2 years old by then), so Sky News being first to change wouldn't surprise me at all. They were first last time, weren't they? (They replaced the election graphics after just a few months)

But in reality it's a short piece of music that is played at the top of the hour and into breaks. It hasn't effected the journalistic quality of the channel has it ?

If Sky News has gone down in your estimation because of that, maybe you are watching it for the wrong reasons.

Anyone noticed "News Channel Of The Year" has gone too!

The Quality of the News on Sky, like BBC & ITV is perfect, it is Fast & Breaking.

The new music doesn't fit in with that. It makes it sound like some Movie. That is all I am saying.

I watch Sky News, BBC News & ITV News all the time. When a major Story breaks Sky News is always the first point of all and always will be.

I am just complaining about the new music and faster Graphics, it makes the appeal go down.
