Lazy. Very lazy. At least, that's the impression I've got at the moment. I assume that there's a little bit more to come?
It took a second listen to get into the new TOTH theme, but I think I quite like it, it just comes across as awful when put over the current titles. It sounds a lot more newsy than the old tune. So do all the beds, etc. Don't like the Sports one though. Thought that sounded like someone had left their radio on in the background.
I wondered though, if the TOTH was just for Sunrise? It sounded very "beginning of the day" to me actually, and I think that with some proper Sunrise titles, instead of the current/old globe ones, it would look quite polished...

Interesting....love the bed its very pacy and once again as mentioned above Sky News in assocation with Crimewatch. The ident and closing title bumper don't work at all - the music doesn't fit the picture and really doesn't work with the voiceover either. Why oh why do tv companies do half arsed revamps all the time, things tend not to work as well when you change something from an original look / design and fuse it with something designed for something else.

Okay, so it seems that the new TOTH music is generic. Ah well.
Gone is that nice special theme they used for Sky News Today. It's just the headline bed (yeah I agree, it does sound a bit Crimewatch, doesn't it? But quite funky, I think) played over the Sky News Today speed-trip globe.
Again, I hope that they've got some new title graphics coming up, because it just didn't look right.

I heard the new music on Sunrise at 9am and again at ten on SNT - obviously haven't heard enough but I thought there was a slight subtle difference - I thought at 10 it was a bit more 'pacy' for SNT.... Did anyone else think this?

Perhaps the new music is a precursor to a new graphical look soon. There are changes happening at Sky News we all know that...
I am at university so I have not heard the music yet, but if it is a disaster, then at least I have my favorites of the old music on CD and mp3...
The one theme I feel which has been underated is the Vote 2001 music. With the piano and percussion ending with the brass fanfare. It was uber-serious and uber-dramatic, but it worked!
Coverage of the previous music will still be available at The TV Room in the skynews pages...
