Can anyone explain why Sky News at Midnight - every night - uses a different top-of-hour sequence from the rest of the day. I cannot help but cringe when...
a) The date on the COMING UP graphic isn't aligned properly.
b) They abruptly ditch the music bed just before the presenter reads the headlines, then play a version that doesn't work with the end-of-sequence tail.
c) It's screwed up. On more than a few occasions it's been botched. The heads were read without music last week.
Is it just a different producer that doesn't know any better, or is there a technical restriction which forces them to do this.
Oh, and I also think that although the new music is a lot better than the old, the top-of-hour sequence tail (just before 'Sky News with..' ) doesn't work. It would be much better coming in from the drum rolls.
Anorak is now fully zipped!
