For all those wondering, The truck lost all but one tire, and the driver gave up only once the truck caught fire, luckly the fire was put out, and the man wasnt hurt.

Why are sky so obsessed with car chases and fires in America?
I can 't see what the slightest relevance the tow truck thing was to anyone in the UK - and I think they were wrong to prematurely end the interview with the balloonist in order to tell us what we could already see on the split screen anyway.

Also, in the 3 or 4 Fox news inserts on Sky I've seen so far, all of them have used footage from KTTV. I thought Fox News was supposed to be a huge organisation.

But have you seen the image of Sven at the press conference? The title of that split screen is 'England Presser'. I look forward to reports from the Uni Nations in New Yorky, debates from the House of commy and tennis coverage live from Wimbo.

'Presser' is the name I think used in the business for press conferences - I've seen a few tapes and feed saying x Presser so maybe someone just transferred that over!

Ouur resident, not are resident.
Anyway, Fox News.

Fox News are not a big company - they're a very small news network. Probably the smallest in the US.
They do have local affiliates, although nowhere near as many as ABC - who currently have the most.
The fact is, there's very little to report. It was 2.41 in the afternoon when that capture was taken and I'd bet that a lot of viewers would've watched the coverage - it's really an attention grabber.
I've seen Fox take coverage from KTRK and others. It's very easy to get US local stations confused, as they all have such stupid names.
Things like WOFL (Fox Orlando) and WXYZ (ABC affiliate), KING (NBC in Seattle).
The list goes on and on.

The fact that the presenters were joking about it gives you an indication as to how they were treating the story.
It's probably just something to fill the time whilst there's very little happening.
I'm not sure about you, but I'd rather watch a live car chase than be subjected to reports that you've already seen. And it does provide a way for Sky to get the audience 'grabbed'. If you're flicking through the news channels and see
A) A live car chase
B) A sports bulletin (which is what N24 would've been showing at that time)
I think I'd choose the car chase every time...
