SKY NEWS RE-LAUNCH THE FACTS

2 things to point out by the new programme and presenter
Presuming these are the accurate time slots for each programme

1. What happens to Sky world News (sky News Active??)or is the current programme (background) a hint they are not putting much into it because its axed

2. What happens to CBS EVENING NEWS (sky news active??)is it axed

I'm not saying it's wrong but a 10am - 5pm presenter shift is just too hard to believe.
Wilson also appears to be presenting fromt 5am until about 10pm...
Sky World News was apparently to remain in the schedules, so that does cast some doubt on this.
I think a Sky employee would also know that it is actually Hazel Murray and Allan King, not Murry and Allen.
If it is true then yes, ok. But why on Earth would King be playing such a big role?
He's currently a weekend afternoon presenter and his presenting style wouldn't really fit in with the new 'pacy' style that seems to be being suggested. Although he was excellent during the coverage of the Bulger killer's release.
It does sound a little too hard to believe but if it's true then it sounds... great!
One more thing to cast doubt on the plans is that Sky One and Sky News' schedules do not match up.
It would be a nightmare to try to schedule exactly the same programme going out on both channels at exactly the same time.
But other than that... excellent!
And yes, it does sounds VERY American.

It sounded slightly odd to me as well but the information is to be believed...

I'm thinking here what if a 'major' news story broke over the week or so, ie the Queen Mother dying, would Sky fast track their new 'look' as was the case when your elections where announced!?

Do you know something we don't!! Well all the main royal correspondents (well Sky's and the BBC's) are at Balmoral when I don't think they would all usually be there (at least not the top ones...). Queen Mother not at the games, not at church - makes you wonder...

They've been following the old girl around since her blood transfusion.  They all went up to the Castle of Mey and are now at Balmoral. I guess they'll keep following her until she finally croaks. Which by the laws of nature can't be that long now!

Bob Friend is indeed a great loss, although nothing has been annouced of his departure - although I expect it was after the election happened.
Bob was the greatest news anchor I've ever seen, and suited Sky News perfectly. Although, like I said, we've heard very little of his departure (if indeed he has departed).
When Bernard Shaw (the Bob Friend equivalent at CNN) left, there was a big party and although the party didn't go quite as planned... it was well known that he'd left CNN.
Just seems a little too hard to be true, ditching your most well known presenter and not saying a word...

But it does seem as if he has gone... He has been off ever since they moved studios which was months ago. I doubt he will make a reappearance! They could have him as a stand in though - linking up with his old partners when their usual male partners are off!

I remember seeing Bernard Shaw annoucing his departure live on cnn usa. During the period where cnn domestic and international ran a joint service over the US elections. When he finished his speech, the whole newsroom behind him gave him a standing ovation. No such thing for Bob. He is a very witty guy, and a true pro. Lets hope we see him soon. As for sky news, im a little disappointed its not going to happen tommorow, no, very disappointed. September 24th is when I start uni, and i wanted to see the overhaul before then. I doubt the 'largest video wall in europe' is true. If so, it would need a huge hanger to house it.

Surely Sky wouldn't NEED anything like that size, would they?
