Yes, this desk really is a bit of a mystery thanks to my friend's dodgy description! He said it looked like it was made of ash, if that helps. Anything more you can tell us about it, ReLaunch?

And I agree about Bob friend - I can't believe they'd let his retirement pass without a mention. After all, he's been a big name in TV for ages! Unless of course he specifically wanted to go quietly...

Sky did let Chris Morris just vanish from the channel.
Chris had been there since launch and was one of their biggest presenters - but it may have been so hush hush because Morris defected to the BBC.

Also - what are they going to be doing with the rest of studio 2?
If they're not having a soft area what are they going to the far end for?

Not sure if Chris defected to the Beeb. Isn't it more likely that left Sky / went freelance?

He has done some weekend News 24 shifts, but doesn't seem to be a regular presenter on News 24 or World.

It may be the case that he's gone freelance, but I just remember reading something about him being employed by Auntie, after leaving Sky.

But Chris Rogers seemed to be very good with Kay this afternoon. Shame they wont be presenting together.
It'll be interesting how News 24 react to this. Either they'll revamp the studio a little bit - like World did - or they'll just not bother and wait until the whole lot relaunches.

Christopher Morris quit Sky News because he was only doing presenting as opposed to being sent into the field which he preferred. He was rarely sent on assignment - there were odd visits to Israel.

However he joined BBC as a . . . PRESENTER!

Not really relevant to what's just been said, this - but I didn't want to start a new thread!

Just noticed that Alan King is presenting tonight with Mark Longhurst, and was on yesterday with Martin Stanford. A bit strange that they're using 2 male presenters - you'd have thought that there would be at least one female presenter available!

This is what I think a typical studio shot of the new look Sky News will look like - how close am I, ReLaunch?!

Very good.
I'd guess the video screen will have lots of different channels on it - then all of them will be wiped off when it's used for reports.

It should look very good... apparently.

Anyone got an idea what the new logo looks like? Confused

We've already had what the new logo will be like - in a previous thread. It's basically the new generic typeface... I'm sure someone else will be able to repost the logo.

Yes, I can't remember who posted it but it was spot on!
