Hello Mr RelaunchNow:
I'd just like to say to you and your colleagues that Sky News is an EXCELLENT channel.
The news is presented in a non-high-brow way, palatable and more importantly not repetative. Although the same story runs throughout the day, each time its presented in a different way.
With the recent enhancements and developments in 24hr news media, Sky still have the respectabilty and authority yet still can attract a populist audience. (something which I feel ITV1 ITN have lost)
The presenters are friendly and professional, the reporters clearly explain their respective stories and cut out the spin and waffle.
When the re-launch happens I only hope it enhances your already excellent service.
Chesh/c@t - I think the existing newsroom has plenty of room for a big videowall. If you think about it, even if they replaced the monitor stack with a videowall exactly the same size (and I've heard the new one is taller), you've still got a videowall that's bigger than pretty much anything else used on TV, at least on a regular basis.
Obviously there are some exceptions - eg BBC Election 97 and (possibly) 2000 Today - but these were just one-offs.
Well, it's certain to be interesting.
But I'm really surprised that Sky haven't annouced Bob's departure.
It does sound very promising, although it's a shame that there's no soft area.
The desk is really difficult to imagine. A black top sounds... odd.
It may be the case that the Sky News logo will be stuck to the front of the desk.
Relaunch, is it the case that the astons will be full length and stretch right across the screen?
What exactly do they look like, I don't mean colour, I mean the shape of them and the size.
