I've just seen an ad on Sky News for Sky News Ireland which launches tomorrow (Monday) week, the camera did a very fan pan accross the studio which seems connected to the Dublin Newsroom, without any gap or window possibly.

Bulletins will be at 7 and 10.

I know the studio will be officially revealed to the press this coming Thursday, as I think the presenters will be making themselves available for interview for press promotion.

Ahh... interesting.

Probably better to continue discussing in the main Sky News thread, though I know there are some who will argue that trauling through 120 pages of that to find anything is annoying.

At least we now know that the set for today's Boulton programme was indeed the soft area of the studio, and not the main desk.

Well I think the launch of this major new initiative deserves its own thread rather then being lost in a100+ thread on a sky news uk relaunch. Has anyone managed to capture the ad yet? It's shown at every ad junction. Look at the end, it shows a map of south-east Ireland. Strangely it has Dublin marked as being about 100km south. Surly they couldn't have made this mistake?!?!

The new studio is officially launched this Thursday at a press briefing.

I assume it is being shown exclusively on the Sky News Eire feed (which is available via the 'other channels' option on Sky Digital, if you're in the UK) rather than on the UK feed?

I would assume so. It will also be made available via active in the evenings. I'll be getting it via analogue and digital cable, where we only get the Irish feed.

It will be interesting to see if they will make more use of the Irish team, with us opting out of the UK feed during breaking news. With the June Euro Elections coming up, it would be great to see more local coverage outside of the 2 nightly bulletins.
