I can't find the related thread about this, but according to an exclusive report in today's Mirror, Frank Partridge has been sacked from Sky News for 'slapping co-presenter Kay Burley in a furoius off-air bust up'.
An insider said 'The powers that be really like Frank - everyone does. But Sky news is not a football team and we cannot tolerate that sort of behaviour. He had to go'.
On Thursday he was called to Sky's North London headquaters where he was told his contract would be terminated. He had been suspended from Sky News ever since the incident.
Frank never really was one of my favourite Sky News presenters. Sky have certainly made the right decision in getting rid of him. Surely they'll have to find someone to replace him now.
Oh dear. I hope Burley got a severe dressing down as well for her part in the bust up, although violence anywhere (never mind at the workplace) should never be condoned.
Expect Frank to turn up on BBC or ITV regional news in about 3 years time when everyone had forgotten who he was.

Well I guess Mr. Partridge got what he deserved, but, like others who have said in the other thread that seems to have dissapeared, I suspect Kay Burley had something to do with setting this up.

What gets me is why is Kay Burley so important to Sky News? Whenever I watch and she's on, I turn over because she repulses me! Lol! Only Kidding, she does get on my nerves though!
Fecking useless Ikonwotsitboard. I'd just typed this post out and thought 'Oh, I know, I'll see if my c@t username is working again'. It wasn't, so when I clicked back the whole bloody lot had been deleted. Grr..
Anyway, I'll try to remember what I posted.
Essentially, Kay should be sacked too. Perhaps if she hadn't followed Frank into the dressing room then this would never have happened, we wouldn't even know about it.
I'm not sure from where Liquid News got the impression that this would up viewing figures. I for one will be turning off when poor little Miss Burley comes on-screen.
If she can't provide an accurate enough description of events that have happened to her (bruised jaw, my arse) then why the hell should I trust her to report events from the other side of the world? As a journalist she has lost all credibility.

I never liked Partridge - there was something about his manner which made him unprofessional.
If he did hit Burley, then this is a disgrace - although Kay did have some part in the bust-up, and although I don't think she should have her contract thrown in the waste bin, she should be reprimanded.
I seriously hope he goes to News 24, even if it was just to get back at Sky. He is, after all, an ex-BBC presenter.
Are the BBC not in need of a new weekend newsreader? What with George's departure to BBC4.

I like Frank Partridge - in a professional sense - he is a very good presenter whereas that witch just wants demoting to the Early Morning News or something!
Can anyone sense that I don't like Kay 'friggin' Burley!
BTW: Frank's profile on the Sky News website is still there!

It's a shame really because although Frank was never my favourite presenter he always seemed to be good at what he did - we don't know exactly what happened so we can't really judge either of them...
Slightly unrelated, but Sky's Royal Review of the Year (so far all the review programmes I've seen on sky + news 24 have been really good) they showed a clip of Kay Burley demonstrating Sky News Active to the queen..
So Queenie did presumably visit Sky that day after all, unless they did the demo at ITN (surely not??)
