Sky News Dual-Time-Zone Clock ?

When did that get put onto the on screen logo, or have I been dozing ?

Its been there since mid morning, and they fade it out at the top of the hour for the 30-second countodwn and the headlines -

and, for the record, I think it looks absolutely dreadful (font is different size, takes up too much of the screen, 'UK' and 'NZ' labels look odd, etc.)

If they insist on having a second clock, I think they should either:
(a) copy Bloomberg (504 on Sky Digital EPG) and have one clock which flips between UK and New York time
(b) stick the New York clock on the right hand side of the screen opposite the other one, given that all their foreign video has appeared on the right and the UK material on the left.

they bring up a clock with the time from New York, whenever they have a live coverage from New York

The NY clock is about 2/3 secs ahead of UK clock on Sky News

Just shows you doesn't it!
Obviously Sky News viewers can't take 5 from the current BST time!

I think its a great addition, you dont see BBC pulling something like that out do you, cause BBC Cannot be arsed

Maybe the BBC credit their viewers with a few brain cells

I think the Sky News clock(s) look great, and who cares anyway, they are trying to keep us informed about the events in america! It doesnt matter how big it is etc..no other channel has done this, so well done Sky.

In fairness, what's the point of knowing what time it is in New York? Any forthcoming 'events' worth going live to in the US would be referred to on news channels in UK time anyway!

I think as 24 Hour rescue attempts are ongoing, its good to see their time when looking at live video from NY.

What I wonder now, is with the new logo, if any disaster like that happens again (which I pray it won't), where would a dual-timezone clock go?
