I know a topic allready exists about today's studio move with sky news, but it is going off topic slightly.

Whats happened so far:

Purple effect on the studio side is not there;
The graphix have gone back to a basic stage;
Soft Studio hasnt been used;
Weather has changed;

What we can look into all this...

Purple effect: Not neccesary if they plan on moving...

Graphix: a longshot but, perhaps they have changed them to prepare for a new set of straps and astons...

Soft Studio: this is expect as work is done on the new set.

Weather: the sponsership animations have gone back to the ones before the election, also the screen must of changed, as a shadow is visible when the presenter moves her arm over the map, this cannot happen with normal chromakey...

However as of 6:57, they are still in the temporary set, if its not changed at 7, i presume the move over will happen during the nine o'clock news, as that just uses a chromakey screen, so expect the set to be used for the news at ten.

If anyone has any info about this, who can answer our questions, please reply.

Move over where?
I think they are already back in studio 2 aren't they? They will have moved overnight...
I don't think they are still in studio 7. The Sky director said they were moving at 0600, i.e. 6am.
When I got up at 6am there were a couple of changes.. the desk wasn't as lit up as usual it looked different, although that may have been my eyes.
The next bulletin I saw they introduced it from a different angle, like they used to in studio 2..
I think they're already in studio 2...
They are going to have to get new astons, I can't cope with the current ones, they look so unfinished.

No its deffinately still the temp studio.

After drawing both i know whats in them, its still temp, thus no side plasma screens, no neon lights on the desk, no glass bar on the desk.

I wonder whats happening?

No, they've just move the temporary set back to Studio 2.

The other has gone hasn't it? I think they've put the temporary studio in the studio 2 soft area. Hence, why we have not seen any soft area, and I think Marcus said that they were putting the temporary set back there.

As for the differences. It could be that the graphics systems etc haven't been updated. Do Studio 7 and Studio 2 have two different control galleries? If they do then that could explain it.

Err. why would they have the plasma screen?
The old set has gone... they aren't going to bring back the glass desk because all that has gone from the old studio!
To quote the Sky director:
'We are moving our temporary set back to studio 2'.
The old desk etc etc has gone, obviously the plasma screens from the old studio have gone!!!
The current temporary set is in the soft area, which is where the new studio will be, and like James has said.. that's why we haven't seen a soft area today.
It would defeat the object of moving only to go and move back to where you were about a month ago!!!

Forgive me - what's a soft area? Is that where they used to sit with the coffee table, a mugfull of (logo to the camera) Sky News hot chocolate, trashing the week's new movies?

So explain...

What has happened?

The studio looks the same as the one they used last week, the only change i have seen, is the purple splodges on the wall behind the sports presenter has gone.

And the graphix and weather have changed...

I cant see any differences

Before they were in studio 7.
Now they have moved back to studio 2.

All of the building work in studio 2 has now (obviously) been completed and so the temporary set that has been used in studio 7 has been taken to studio 2 and put where the old comfy chairs were.
You wouldn't notice any differences, that's the point!
They will just have hidden off the rest of Studio 2, so you can't see any of the new building work. The new desk etc will be put into place on the 3rd of September and then the rest of studio 2 will be seen.

I can't see why it's so difficult to understand!

The wide shots at the top of the hour seem to be tighter than in studio 7. I would guess this is because they are not going to let us see any more of studio 2 then we have to!!

Boy what an anti-climax!!!!!!!!

pah!

now we have nothing to look forward to during the wait, except for once the new system has adapted, and the straps and astons all match up properly.
