Media Guardian reports:
Sky News has launched an investigation after an altercation between news anchors Kay Burley and Frank Partridge.
The row is believed to have taken place yesterday shortly after the pair, who co-host the afternoon slot, came off air.
'Sky executives have now spoken with the employees and are considering what further action - if any - to take,' a spokeswoman said.
But the company did confirm that there had been an 'altercation'.
After the argument she was described as 'visibly upset' before discussing the issue with the head of news, Nick Pollard.
Burley and Partridge have only presented the joint afternoon bulletin together since a September revamp, according to Sky News sources.
Insiders claim the argument was about professional matters.
Partridge said: 'I cannot comment. I am sorry I know you have to ask but I have been instructed not to comment. There is a compulsory process.'
Burley, who was on air when the World Trade Centre was attacked on September 11, has won plaudits in the past for her professionalism at times of crisis and is one of the main faces of the channel.
But I thought Kay had been presenting with Chris Rogers and I only saw Frank with her this week. Chris was back presenting with her today, unsurprisingly.
