Found this site, which takes an unusual look at Sky News and BBC News 24, not presentation wise, but the amount of electricity and energy they are wasting with the plasma screens and banks of monitors.  What do you think ?

I saw this a while back and it made me laugh.
Hopefully the bank of monitors at Sky will have been trashed.
It has been there since 1989 with only a few changes and it looks so stupidly out of place!

CNN has to be the worst though.
The amount of unrequired lighting in that newsroom is beyond belief!

And that picture represents about 1/50 of the newsroom, which is massive.
There are little table lights everywhere, it's a nice place but must cost a for... just remember something.
A while back I remember watching CNN when there was a power problem in Atlanta.
CNN had an aston displayed on screen saying 'POWER PROBLEMS AT CNN CENTER ARE CAUSING US TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES'.
The lights kept going out and fading in again.
Serves them right!

The amount of power and money 'wasted' on tv's in the background of shots is nothing compared to the electricity bill for just the lights in a TV studio.

Never mind your 100W bulbs in the living room, each lamp in a big studio is rated at 10KW and they have quite a few lamps (probably in excess of 50 for a big show) Oh yeah, there's also the air-con bill too to get rid of the heat generated from all the TVs, computers & lamps
