After checking up the Sky news Australia website I found out a couple of interesting things:

1. Andrew Robertson- After looking at his profile under presenters I found out that he spent 4 years in Sky News London as a producer, reporter and presenter but I have never seen him before.  Does anyone recognise him ( Hes on www.skynews.com.au/presenters.  See if you recognise him.

2.  Sky News Australia use CBS Evening News and ABC world News twice a day (in the afternoon and then again overnight) and also show ABC Nightline How come BBC NEWS 24 and not sky news SHOW ABC programmes but Sky News Australia can.  I now that there is an ABC channel (Australian Broadcasting corporation) but is it linked to the American ABC.

3.  Sky News Australia seem to show Sky News London at half past the hour apart from a couple of hour long London  Programmes. To show Sky NEWS LONDON when its half way through the programme sounds stupid. Reminds me of a certain American Breakfast show that used to be shown.

4.If you check up www.skynews.com.au/programmes you see that they still highlight the old London programmes such as sportsline, business report etc. There is a link directly above it when you see all the links on the left hand side of the site.  This shows the listings for today .  All the london programmes seem to be substituted.( p.s the font and colour on the week in review logo looks very similar)

5.There dont seem to be any hour-long australia news programmes.

6.Are there any plans for an Australian sky news relaunch.  Ill email them and ill give u the response later.

Thats all for now!
see you later!

I think the reasons for the differences between sky news uk and sky news australia which you mention are because of the ownership of sky news australia.

They are owned locally by Channel 7 and Channel 9 Television as well as BSkyB.

Your point about the abc, I don't think it's linked to the american abc, it's funded by the government, but they don't get half as much funding as the bbc and show a hell of a lot of bbc programmes from memory!

New Zealand uses completely different logos to Australia and Britain, but I'd say yes, but not yet.

Is there anyone from Oz that can tell us which British programmes/newsreaders they get.

Be interesting if they're getting Sunrise at teatime or something.

I think they got Monty Python at one time. Think of all the really big programmes in the past, they've probably broadcast them over there. I bet Fawlty Towers has been broadcast there!
