Please feel free to call me a winky-basher or cretin if this is being discussed elsewhere, but Sky News Active seems to have been relaunched as Sky Scape. www.sky.com/news

When the initial SNA service launched, I didn't feel there was much of a market for payed video content when the BBC provide it for free , and I guess this relaunch confirms this to be the case.

Did anybody here actually bother to subscribe to the original service?

No, I had better things to do, like, er, watching the news on TV. But I like the name, it's definately more original than 'Active' or 'interactive' which is turning into a cliche now.

the new service seems to be effectively the same as the old one, just with a new brand and clearer links between news and sport content

oh, and didn't it used to be free for Sky Digital subscribers? They have to pay now, but they get a discount.

Speaking of Sky News Active (this time the TV version), noticed they've been messing around with the "Active" icon. I've seen "Press Red", "Headlines" and "Video Menu".

(Still hoping for a graphics update soon, and really hoping for the Movies relaunch to be the trigger for all Sky channels to get fully widescreen pres including Sky News)

I'm not signed up for it, bad enough paying £18 a month for Sky as it is Cool

They have just merged all of the broadband content from SKYnews, SKYsports, and added new Entertainment screens.

SKYscape is not a bad name, but its just a consiliation. If somone views the news, they may find interest in the other screens and so having them all together will make people see they get more for their money.

I only have the Family Pack, I cant afford nor have a real demand for sports and movies...

To be honest, I think Sky Movies has really gone down hill. The quanity of new movies that appears has slowed to a trickle (compared to 1999-2000). It is indeed probably cheaper to cancel them and pay for the odd film on box office.
