NO! Before we get excited they haven't moved into new studios yet but they have gone into the small studio which has a small circular desk and a 4:3 plasma screen.
They moved at 1am.

For all I know, they may always do this past 1am but I have never seen them do it before!

With all the activity in the newsroom and a studio change, (temporarily) could this mean that they are actually making preperations for the proper new look to begin soon?

Well they're back in the main studio now (11am) with two presenters. Wonder what they were doing?!

I can confirm that preparations are underway for a massive re-confirguration and re-callibration of the whole Sky News operation.... What you have been witnessing these past few days is the technical preparations, i.e wiring, lighting, computers etc... getting ready for the now ominous 're-launch'...

Keep Watching! There are many developments to come!

Any indication as to when we will see the changes on screen?!!

On a slightly different point, during the newspaper review at 11.55 last night (Saturday), there was a lot of banging and it turned out that Liza Aziz had tipped her water over and she was trying to clear it up from all the electrics! Very funny!!

Kev, any clues to what will be going on?

Is it going to be gradual or will it all happen at once? I presume thats why they were in the small studio early this morning, chances to get things ready.

When is it going to happen? It must be close now that they are doing work like this!

Blimey! All systems go at Sky News then eh?!

1am seems to be a key time, so if anyone is up at that time tonight, feel free to post here about what happens!

It'll be interesting to see how all the behind-the-scenes work is going to make a difference (apart from the obvious presentational/studio differences) As long as it doesn't mean a constant ticker at the bottom of the screen, I'll be happy!

Cheers, Asa

Although I probably shouldn't, I'll be up at 1am tonight/tomorrow.

I have an exam in the morning (LAST ONE! HURRAH!) but I can get little sleep and still perform well. Honest!

I do hope we can see some visible developments on screen soon. Also like Asa said it will be interesting to see what they do off screen and what improvements will be made.

Physics isn't it James?
Arg!

Anyway, previously they have fully relaunched, i.e moved into the new studios at 4pm, at the last re-launch it was when Bob Friend and Anna Botting were presenting at 4pm, now it is Kay and JT, whatever happens it should be interesting.

Hopefully they will have it similar to the original look, i.e. open plan studios with a desk.
If there is a constant ticker I will feel compelled to place a large block of cellotape across my screen, I hate tickers.
