'...And as from February Sky News Active will add a further four video screens showing Sky News, Fox News, a live feed of the newsroom and the main story. These will be added to the current screens, which show top stories, business, showbiz and weather.'

Live feed of the newsroom? Couldn't that be a bit dodgy seeing what presenters are doing during reports?! http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Also, seems to suggest that Fox News will not get an EPG placement.

Told ya Wink

It was annouced in January, and they did have plans for it to be launched by election time but that was put back due to the fact that they decided to go for a relaunch - which wasn't decided on in January.

February may see a few more changes. A new look News Active and the arrival of a new presenter for the Sunrise programme. Perhaps they'll take the opportunity to BANISH THOSE HORRIBLE GRAPHICS.

Allan King is very good, he's funny. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Sky are going to keep him with Kay Burley in the current slot and not bring Rogers back.

Why are they having a live feed of Sky News on News Active? Is it me or does this make no sense at all? Who's going to want to watch Sky News on a small screen if they can see it in full screen?

Live feed of the newsroom sounds a bit... cheap. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see it. But 3 of the feeds will cost them, well, nothing and aren't really that useful. Sky News is already available, Fox News is a big pile of poo and the newsroom frankly isn't news. Ah well.

How can you insult Fox News! Fox & Friends is brilliant. Sunrise should be replaced by Sky & Friends.

Why not a Sports news screen as well or a Parliment feed, this would be better than Newsroom or Sky News feed.

I don't think Fox News makes Friends...

I don't even think that Fox broadcasts 'Friends'!

Fox is dire. It's frankly that simple.

Not only is it the most pro-republican network in the US, and hence the most biased, but half of the presenters don't know what they're talking about.

The network is painfully US-centric, to the point at which they forget that other countries are involved in this war effort and call it 'America at War'.

bin Laden's followers are reffered to as 'terrorist thugs', that's no way to report the news IMO.

My biggest worry is that Sky will model themselves on Fox and become a truely awful network.

How on Earth anyone could sit through more than five minutes of Fox and Friends is beyond me. The last time I bothered to watch that dross the female presenter went on for about 15 minutes saying that Saddam is stupid and the US should go and bomb Iraq. Yeah, let's bomb Iraq! Then she showed she had amazing ignorance in not being able to name the capital of Iraq. Utter rubbish, that's all it is.

On the subject of a CBS News, I'm not entirely sure what the point would be.

CBS do not operate a 24 hour news network, and so repeating the CBS Evening News hour after hour after hour would be pointless to say the least.

'Fox & Friends' is a programme on Fox News from 11AM - 2PM GMT.

But it is entertaining, not the same all boring stuff, something different. E.D. - dross??? What are you on about. I dont really think there is anything wrong with the presenters.

And rather pointless/not very interesting if its quarter screen.

Of course, if its a live feed of the gallery... well.. somehow I can't see them doing that 24/7 in a million years though, much as we'd all love it.

As a viewer, I think my favourite option would be similar to 'playercam', with Sky News or News 24 in the majority of the screen, a smaller window showing the gallery, and being able to switch between the audio of both.

I agree with what Cat said, 3 out of the 4 screens with nothing terribly useful on.

I at least expected a Sports option.

CBS does operate an overnight news service for its local stations - CBS News Up To The Minute. ABC also does the same thing - World News Now. NBC used to have one as well called 'Nightside' under the NBC Newschannel brand (whatever that was). Difference between Nightside and the others was that it was a 7 day operation, and it came out of Charlotte, North Carolina instead of New York.

I agree with some people here. FOX is an awful network. I'm not sure if anyone of you gets the actual FOX network along with FOX NC. If you did, you would think Channel 5 was the greatest thing invented in comparison. Fox mostly shows unbelievable reality shows (fake example: When Gerbils Attack). PLUS, 'Who wants to Marry a Multimillionaire'... oh geez. What a waste of primetime. The only thing that is the silver lining IMO in Murdoch's media goons is Sky News.
