I have yet to come across ANY presentation of this on the internet.

There's plenty of 2000 Today stuff out there - but practically nothing from anywhere else.

I'd really love to see those purple 'From the skies above London' (yeah right, more like a warehouse in Osterley!) idents again.

Sky News Into 2000 and Sky News Countdown 2000 - Countdown was, I think, the one presented from the virtual 'Bee Desk' studio.

Please please please! Has anyone got ANY coverage from this? Martin Stanford walking around his virtual house, etc!

I have CNN's Millennium 2000 coverage taped, and the full music to go with it, that's great but I'd really love to see some millennium coverage from Sky or ITV.

Out of the 500+ members on this forum, I'm certain that someone must have something...

Have had Sky for 3 months now, what do they normally do on New Year's Eve?

From what I can remember of last year (watching News 24/BBC1 live, and a video clip from Sky on their website) there was a shared feed from Trafalgar Square, not terribly exciting, News 24 had a camera obviously on a boat opposite the London Eye, again not exactly exciting but looked quite colourful with the lights etc. and I think Sky had an OB from outside Edinburgh castle, marginally more exciting but in true New Year's Eve style, rather confused.

News 24 I think had coverage of some event going on in Greenwich a few hours beforehand, but I can't remember for the life of me what exactly it was.

Oh and BBC1 had the extended lottery programme with Dale Winton and an OB from the other side of the Thames next to the London Eye - with the usual pointless 'so what do you think of the New Year then?' interviews.

OTT's review of New Year's Eve telly is well worth the read:

I can remember, News 24 were at Greenwich becuase there was some sort of big event with a specially built clock - I remember watching it live before going to a party, when Gwenan Edwards cam on at 1900.

I was out last year and for MM, but decided to tape last year to see what they did.

Not much is the simple answer.

IIRC, they added 'Happy New Year' to their ident and took coverage from Trafalgar Square - Edinburgh and a few others.

Edinburgh was great, as usual!

Have just dug out the radio times to look at this year's offering:

BBC1: Jonathan Ross, which makes a change from Angus Deayton (who's presenting a compilation of Have I Got News for You prior to it). Both presumably pre-recorded

BBC2: Jools Holland, as always. Never been sure if this was pre-recorded or not, I presume it must be because of the complexity of it.

ITV: Pitiful. News headlines at 11.55 followed by Big Ben.

Channel 4: Completely ignore it as usual and show a horror film.

Channel 5: Night Fever, again presumably pre-rec with News headlines at 11.55

Sky One: 4-hour Karaoke show including Sky News at midnight.

I have a lot of Sky News 2000 into 2000 on tape, I would but it up, but I don't have the ability.

Sky's normal New Years coverage starts at 11am in Sydney and moves around the globe as New Years are celebrated culminating at 5am in New York. Correspondents are despatched to various locations of interest, normally Westminister and Edinburgh plus anywhere else of major interest.
