It seems that Sky News are finally going to give their schedule a revamp. There news service is excellent but I do agree with Nick Pollard (chief controller of Sky News) that there should be more choice of programmes for viewers.

Sky News is looking to revamp its programming schedule later this year as it looks to move away from continuous rolling news style of programming.
In an attempt to adopt a format similar to that of most US news networks, Nick Pollard who is the chief controller at Sky News has said that the new style will be built around specific presenters, both from the existing team and new presenters.
Sky News already has fixed points in its schedule including Sunrise in the morning and Live at Five but wants more scheduled programmes to pull in viewers and keep them for longer.
Pollard insisted Sky News would always put covering big breaking news first and break into fixed schedules whenever necessary.
Nothing mentioned about an ident and graphics revamp. In my opinion, i think Sky News should completely relaunch the channel with a new look and new schedule in the summer. The current idents are vile and just look cheap & tacky.
