Sky's wmtlv internet service, Sky Net, will be launching on Thursday 20th April.

It's supposed to allow you to access specially versioned internet sites on your television.

If you want to access it before then, then go to the second page of the Interactive menu on your Sky box, and select option 2, then enter the code: 0638 to enter it.

Any chance of a version of TV Forum on the TV in the future perhaps?

How much does it cost? I might give it a try later...

If I thought anyone would bother to use it then yes, but I don't! Very Happy

Do they think people really want to surf via their TV when most homes have access to a PC and the net?

It's a local rate phone call.

You can't go and access any website through it, because it uses WMLTV technology (a bit like wap), so the websites you can access are listed in a directory on the service.

Apparently you can also tune into radio channels whilst using the service (I haven't tried it since this was implemented)

I forsee 3 possibilities for this:-

1) It flops, just like the Bush Internet TV did
2) It becomes a hugely successful thing making Sky millions
3) The whole system becomes superpowerful, attempts to overthrow the human race, and sends back Terminators into the past...

I think that's the nail on the head really, there have been many attempts to do the web on TV and they've all failed.

Just like TV on a mobile, the net on a TV just doesn't work on many levels, and no-one really wants it
