I was just on my way out to pick up my new wig from the local animal research centre, and I decided to flick through the movie channels to see if there would be anything worth watching, should I be able to bring a lady round after being seduced by my new head of hair.

However, I was most upset when I found such rubbish as Mrs Doubtfire, A Monkey's Tale, and the foul Look Who's Talking Now etc, when these really should be in Movies Max.

And whilst I'm moaning about breaches of the trade descriptions act, since when have The New Adventures of Superman been either UK or GOLD? Why is this dreadful series on UK GOLD?

I feel sorry for the kids of today. I grew up with Airwolf and Knightrider. They grow up with The New Adventures of Superman and Friends.... no wonder it's all going downhill.

I too grew up with Airwolf, Knight Rider and many other classic cult TV series. But I also enjoyed "The New Adventures of Superman" and watched every episode when it was first aired on BBC1 on a Saturday night from 1993.

UK Gold was initially set up to screen shows first aired on BBC and ITV.

Yep - but remember that those of us who grew up with Airwolf and Knightrider also grew up with...

Manimal (yep - with the bloke now in Casualty)
Automan
Blue Thunder (kind of Airwolf but with not such a cool helicopter)
Streethawk (kind of Knightrider, but on a bike)

I miss all of them - though Streethawk was repeated on Bravo recently (gotta love the Tangerine Dream theme)
