Sky Movies Gets A New Look!

Yes, the idents are showing and they do seem to reflect the mood of the film - for example there was a kids action film on earlier which had pink whizzing cinema reels, while a drama on after it had the blue 'pawprint' showing after the camera whizzed through the lens of a projector.

The cinema one's are more sombre still from what I can tell, just classic stars in pictures being 'etched' in and out - a row of 4 at a time.

I've just seen one of Sky Cinema's idents and I'm not really that impressed.. the music should be something you're likely to remember like that Sky Premier music and, well, I've forgotten it already.

Ah well.

is there anyone able to collect music, video and images for The TV Room?

I wish my old computer would work, I could capture everything then... whats worse is you have to wait several hours for the movie to finish before you can capture any idents. I'm not interested in the movies, show me the idents!!!



I'm still trying to get over the logo, what do the 3 stacked blocks mean? There are no 3 main names now, max and premier are gone its just movies and cinema so shouldn't it be 2 blocks? me no understand

The general conscenus here seems to be that they're not very good. *GASP* could this be a backward step in terms of presentation for Sky Movies, when the previous looks were often considered to be some of the best idents on television.

Well I don't get the channels myself, but notice that NTL still haven't amended the channel numbers on the EPG. Now that Sky are referring on screen to the numbered channels, how are viewers supposed to know which is which ?

Sky Movies Premier 2 to Sky Movies 3
Sky Movies Premier 3 to Sky Movies 5
Sky Movies Premier 4 to Sky Movies 7

Of course when they do get round to amending the EPG they'll all be out of order anyway.

Bit poor, mind you NTL are always slow at getting off their backsides.

Glad I'm not on NTL. Feeling slightly sorry for mum though, she's on NTL, but she doesn't have the movie channels never mind having to explain why the movie channel doesn't exist no more... "So is this Sky Movies 3 or 5?!" Bless. "I tell you what, lets just go to the cinema instead!"



It's still crap I wonder why some of Sky's graphic work seems to be a bit trash lately? Because it's done in-house? That reminds me, I came across a link through an adobe site that led me to another website of the people who made the Sky Premier ident, they had a full clean Premier ident to download, must find that again.

I've just seen the ident for Sky Movies 2.

Think UK Gold fireworks. Not bad, but not as nice as the previous two sets.

That's my opinion, anyway.
