It's begun!!
I've just seen a trailer for a movie (can't remember which one) on Sunday, and at the end it said "...on Sky Movies 1". It still had the old style graphics and everything, but theyve obviously recorded the voice overs for the new trailers already.
Also, on some movies if you press i to bring up the programme information, you'll see the new star rating. Cats and Dogs, for example has been given 2 stars. Laughing

That just renders the whole thing a bit pointless really. Obviously the Movie Max films and Premier films are still going to exist on their own individual channels. I thought they were going to open out all the screens with a broader selection of films, they may as well have stayed as they are.

Personally, I still find it quite confusing - change for changes sake. And i've noticed that for a couple of months now, the trailers have been saying (e.g. "Cats and Dogs - Thursday, on Sky Movies") as if our eyes are wrong or something, when we look at the EPG!)

Here is another development..

On my way home from uni, I found a bill-board containing a new Sky Movies logo... I have re-created it because the photo came out blurry - It was raining heavy when I took the photo!!!

And the photo for the interested...

Again that strikes me as being rather poor. Not exactly original, is it? Colours are boring as well.

So why two different logos?
I just received this email from the Sky Publicity department:

Quote:
Dear Jason,

Yes, the channels will be named Sky Movies 1-9 and there will be a new logo and on-screen look. I can't show you anything at this stage I'm afraid, although there should be something in Broadcast today, with some graphics.

Failing that, I'm afraid you'll have to wait til Nov 1st!

Kind Regards

Steve

So, they still say November 1st...this is getting rather confusing!!
Anyone have a copy of Broadcast??

This is what it says in next months Sky Mag, which came like a few days ago, pretty much all what we know already...

Arrow Sky Movies Prem and Max are becoming Movies 1-9 ... blah blah blah we know all that...

Arrow Brand new weekly World Cinema double bill on Sky Cinema bringing you the best from around the globe... know that too

Arrow Improved info when you press the 'i' button - star ratings + new style reviews for every movie...

Arrow New multi-start option from interactive technology...

Erm, thats all really. On another page I think it hints that all movies are in widescreen. And some 'exciting' changes to skymovies.com, coming soon. I think we can all be sure this all starts on Nov 1.

Hmm.. is Sky Scape something new or am I being slower than I thought... Rolling Eyes

P.S.: The price change rumours I heard from somewhere on here have been confirmed. If you're billed on the 1st of every month, you'll see the change to £40 in your Jan bill, if its any other day it'll be something like 39.29 in Dec then 40 in jan. Great Sad

Well I've seen a trailer for Attack of the Clones on Sky News, it featured the paw print logo in replacement of the oval thing. And featured a number inside the paw print for the screen it's showing on.

Not sure what I thought of it. Laughing

The idents are.... PINK!!

How is this red button multi-start going to work? Can you put in say 9:04 and the film will start at that time, or will it be like Box Office where it's spread over loads of channels to give the impression of it starting every 15 mins?

Err, old ITV2 rollercoaster ident?

Well the info bar has been updated to the new Movies 1-9 and Cinema 1 & 2 names. Also the star ratings are on some films as well. A day earlier than I expected. Has anything else changed? Have the idents been shown yet?
