To be fair, Brekkie, the Sky Atlantic idents in April 2016 (and those for the font change in October 2017) didn't receive an unfavourable response from us pres geeks. Neither did the Sky Cinema ones.
If anything, Sky can wheel out some fairly decent idents when they put their minds to it. Certainly better than anything other than special idents produced by BBC Destructive.

Wonder if we’ll see this design rolled across the rest of their channels. We know Sky can’t settle on one style for long.

Honestly. I think this will probably stay with Witness mainly because it stands out from the other channels.
Despite it having the same logo and promo style, the idents are what makes the channel stand out. So I'd say, let each channel look corporate but on screen, give them their own unique image.
