Probably because most wrestling fans have grown up since 1992.
Maybe an attempt to appeal to UEFA ahead of the Champions League bidding by providing an outlet for 'free' matches with a wider subscriber base than BT.

I haven't much cared for it since the Attitude era but I know people who enjoy it just as much as when they were younger. It might not be as popular as it once was but there's still a sizeable following.
