It appears to currently be showing a programme according to the EPG but there is no programme info and when I click on it I get the standard upgrade sub message.

Only available to Sky employees. Means what it says I suppose. Most likely details on new stuff, deals, procedures and what not so when Joe Public phones up they'll know how to handle them. I doubt the EPG entries are genuine and are more likely just placeholders.

Not quite. It just shows advance previews of upcoming shows every now and then. A bit similar to Sky Atlantic VIP.
