Back in February, rumours were rife of a "major" reshuffle in the Sky EPG, which looked set to change many channel's EPG positions. It was rumoured to take place on March 14th but there has been nothing mentioned on this topic by any of the media websites -

does anyone know or have heard anything about this supposed "major" EPG reshuffle

I can't tell you anything on it, seeing as I don't have Sky. Is this any help?

The reshuffle was first said to be on Monday 14 March and the rumours were that is was going to be big and definetly involve the music section totally moving. Music Choice confirmed it was moving on this date from 480 & 481 to 498 & 499 .

However, then Music Choice revealed that its channels would be moving on Thursday 31st March instead to the same numbers.

I can only assume its been delayed while slots are sorted out. I personally predict that ALL the music channels are moving up the EPG to start with MTV on 451. This would then give more room to the sports section of the EPG.

However, the end of the documentaries section needs tidying up, the radio and adult section has run out of room totally, the shopping section is bulging again and more room is needed for regional variations!!

This is what i think should happen:
I think that the WHOLE kids section should move to 351+ and then the shopping section could move down to start with QVC on 601.
ALL the Sky Box Office channels should combine into one interactive service accessed through one channel located in the movies section.
Then International channels could move down to start on 701.
Radio could then move to start on 751.
Regional Variations could move down to start on 901.
Adult channels could move down to start on 951.
This would be a long term plan but i think its possible.
If the number shortage situation got really bad in the future, ALL the radio channels could combine onto one interactive service. This is what happened to the music choice channels which once were all on individual numbers before they all combined into one interactive service.

One problem with that is those with Sky+ or Tivo boxes cannot then record off the radio channels. I often record some of the drama or comedies on Radio 4 or BBC7.

Have a look here, as well, Terry, as it looks as if the new software will give more radio details.

That OUGHT to allow recording, if true.

Which also means that I no longer use Music Choice as it takes so long to load. Which is a shame as it's rather a good service.
