What sort of disruption would happen when viewing Sky whilst the reshuffle is in progress?
MA
Very little disruption. The changes happened at 5:30 this morning, and my box didn't even go into standby.
I deliberately left my box on BBC N24 Ch507 last night, this morning it was still displaying N24, I pressed 'Select' to reveal the EPG number and it displayed 503.
Very smooth !

Because, as has been previously explained, E4 only have rights to the 3 EPG positions from 160, in the same way that UKTV only have rights to the 3 positions from 109.

So, E4's now on 140. How cme the 4 family aren't together? E4 and More 4 occupy 160-2, yet More 4+1is on 189!
Nice to see the favourites haven't got b****red.

Interstingly though, because UKTV Style, Style +1, Style Gardens, Food & Food +1 have been moved to the "Lifestyle & Culture" section, they have allowed a space for UKTV Drama +1 at Ch 134, which they hadn't originally done.
Obviously there has been some leeway where channels were effectively being "moved down" the EPG bcause of the re-categorisation.
EDIT:
I noticed before that they will avoid this problem by only allowing 2 EPG places for each new channel, thus only allowing a +1 or an additional channel. No doubt in future +1s will be next to their parent channel.

A rather annoying side effect of the EPG changes is that my Sky Gnome presets no longer work - they only store 3 digit numbers and the radio stations now have 4 digit numbers. I would be very surprised if the software of the Gnome is upgradable over the air.
I have sent an email of complaint.

Apparently the Sky Gnome issue is a digibox software issue not a Gnome software issue - the problem being that the box is ignoring the initial 0 of the channel number when it sends the information to the Gnome. That means the display shows 104 for BBC Radio 4 and that's the number the preset tries to store.
