The sky EPG has had the same look now for years. It's look is nothing like its corporate look and is well out of date, in serious need of a complete makeover.

Does anyone know if we will see this vital makeover soon Confused:

It's not vital. Get a grip. They probably wont even bother until everyones got faster boxes anyway.

I'm not too bothered about the look, but it needs a huge channel re-shuffle. It's becoming a complete mess now.

I wouldn't say its a complete mess. The cable companies' EPGs are in a worse state IMO. Even Freeview is starting to look more of a mess than Sky.

At least with Sky, you still have definable areas of the EPG - eg Entertainment, Sport, Music etc.

How do you get a faster box anyway? I got mine before the free box and installation era. It's one of the earliest Sky Black Pace boxes with no LED display on the front and runs like a tortoise Rolling Eyes . When choosing between programme menus on the EPG, you can select a page and go and have a cup of tea whilst you wait for the page to change - it is that slow.

Still, it gets the job done! But I wouldn't mind getting a faster box now. Can you exchange them or would I have to buy another box? Confused:

Who knows! Maybe by this time next year we'll have a brand new EPG. Then again, it could just be the same old. Isn't it built into the boxes anyway? Or is it just software that can be uploaded like onto a PC?

AIUI it's just software which can be downloaded to the boxes

Yep it's just that, the software of course as far as I know handles the encryption side of things as well.

Best to look on ebay for Sky boxes, all you need to do is call Sky and activate your viewing card to the new box.

I much pefer the channel numbering on Telewest compared to Sky, the best of teh channels all seem to be in the early figures and not dotted around the EPG, plus we dont have hundreds of Front Row channels, if you want a PPV you get it on channel 0. Telewest Lineup
