Did anyone happen to call up the DSat EPG for Saturday night's "Jim Davidson - Passionate about Comedy" on BBC ONE?
The title field is unfortunately limited to two less characters than there are in that programme title, so the 'd' and 'y' were missing from the end of 'comedy' !!!
A little like the tale of the announcer introducing "Jack Hargreaves - The Old Country", only to have his last syllable clipped by the transmission automation....
Or what about the famous moment when Trevor McDonald got his words mixed up and said "C*nt Kentryside" instead of Kent Countryside.
Personally I used to like Gary MacKenzies links into The Mike Doyle show - pity I didn't record them for later amusement. I could have done with something to laugh at during my penis reduction therapy... hey-ho..
Was it not also the wonderful Dickie D. who (in his days at Associated Rediffusion) actually did that apology for the missing letter on the weather map...?
Or "ramming will resume shortly", or "oy nob" - but then you already know about those
The DTT EPG for ITV2 is currently showing "Pop Idol Extra (Teddington 3 Hou" which is surely more information than we should be able to see?
DTT does give away too much sometimes! Last Sat on ITV2 it has CD:UK Series 6. I never knew CD:UK had series. I thought it was just on going till ITV says Stop and axes it.
Also the other night on Channel 4 it had, Teachers 6/13, so I take it as ep 6 out of 13.
CD:UK has (thus far) been commissioned on the basis of year-long series running concurrently August to August. S1 was 98-99, S2 99-00 and so forth. S6 (03-04) has just begun.
