Noooooooooooooo Very Happy

Wonder which side caved? think it was Discovery.

Someone should tell Sky, their twitter is still saying the channels might leave.....

The Star is reporting negotiations are over:

Nothing to see there, just recycling old news. I'd want confirmation from a far more reliable source.

It's the Daily Star - what do you expect?
As for the 11th hour agreement - thank goodness. I don't watch Discovery myself, but it's refreshing to see that both have reached out into an agreement.

I was also interested to see how long any dispute would last once the channels had gone off the Sky EPG. Sad

So Discovery caved, as I thought, they have lost my respect, and made themselves look like a bunch of clowns.

The fact that Sky has come out and said they caved, is significant as well, Sky now have Discovery on a lead. They are Sky's little pet. Crying or Very sad

Discovery - We drove a hard bargain with Sky.
Sky - Discovery backed down.

Reminds me of the 'Smashie & Nicey - End of an Era' scene, where they race down to the press conference to beat 'Johnnie Beergut' and both open the door and Smashie shouts "we resigned" and Beergut shouted "they were sacked" at the same time.

Like I said last Thursday - I guessed some sort of arrangement would be reached before 11pm tonight. Personally, I think the story (rumour or not) about Discovery talking to BT may have been the clincher.

Great. Luge, the World University Games and Snooker tournaments played in front of a crowd of 9 in some sports hall in the backwaters of Eastern Europe can continue uninterupted.
